Mhisi Lodge is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional African bush lodge. Nestled on the banks of the legendary Sabi River, Mhisi Lodge encourages guests to get closer to one of Africa’s greatest wildernesses, the Kruger National Park.
You can enjoy sweeping views across the river into Kruger National Park from the viewing balcony, open living area, or the swimming pool deck.
You can relax and listen for the sounds of nature such as the calls of the hyenas for which the lodge is named, the resident hippo’s grunts, or the unforgettable sound of lions roaring, from the private sheltered boma and bar.

The Sabi river area of the Kruger National Park is an area of outstanding natural diversity, and is famed for the concentration of the Big Five game animals, lions, leopards, elephants, rhino and buffalo. These animals roam around Mhisi lodge on the Elephant Point reserve, which is open to the Kruger National Park to the south, however there is an electric fence in place around the lodge for safety and security.
Mhisi Lodge is situated on the Elephant Point estate, just 6km from the famous Paul Kruger gate, and only 26km from Skukuza airport, connecting to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. It is 5 hours by road from Johannesburg or Pretoria via a scenic route over the escarpment mountains.
The fully air conditioned lodge can sleep up to 6 people in three bedrooms, and has a games room with a pool table, a game viewing deck, swimming pool, and a private bush boma and bar. The lodge features African themed decor with African animals decorating the rooms.
